A very welcome new thing about living in Oksu is that IZ has begun to hang out regularly with friends, many of whom live nearby or or go to hagwon in Apgujeong.  Back in Wirye, he saw his friends outside of school maybe 2 or 3 times a year (no exaggeration), perhaps on someone’s birthday.  We were deeply concerned that isolation had become his/their way of life, but fortunately it might simply have been geography.  This afternoon, he suddenly announced that he had people to meet and ran out of the house.

Which gave us the opportunity to eat agu jjim for dinner, which IZ doesn’t like.
