At a supermarket in the States last week – Andronico’s on Shattuck, across from Chez Panisse – I was happy to discover a variation of Rao’s: vodka sauce.  Compared to the standard marinara – my favorite bottled pasta sauce (see for comparison 17.168 Spaghetti & Meatballs in Rao’s Homemade Marinara Sauce) – the vodka variation is slightly rounder in flavor, though not particularly creamy – both are excellent.

Shoulda bought more Chef Boyardee (or maybe better that I didn’t).
Shoulda bought more Crystal Hot Sauce (though at the time, I had doubts).
Shoulda bought more Triscuits (or maybe better that I didn’t).
