Tai no Kama Shioyaki is a Japanese dish.  Salted (shio) and roasted yaki) neck (kama) of red snapper (tai).

It was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, as was the entire spread, as usual (see most recently 15.055 Sashimi Moriawase).

Last June, I’d received an email from a student named E, a rising junior at SFS, inquiring about summer work opportunities.  Passionate about literature, as evidenced by her social media platforms, she’d been to our warehouse events and just wanted to do something/anything involving books, even if it meant hauling boxes.  So I hired her as an “intern” and tasked our international school coordinator Callie to shoot some promotional videos with her to upload on our nascent social media platforms.  A few days in, we realized that her father is Don S, who was a year behind me at SIS.

Although Don and I weren’t close in school, can’t recall if we ever had a conversation, it was good seeing him again.
