Nigirizushi is a Japanese dish. Consists of vinegared rice (sushi/zushi), formed into bite-sized balls – “nigiri = gripping” in reference to the hand motion in making the balls – typically topped with a slice of raw fish (e.g., tuna, salmon, snapper), dipped in soy sauce, often with grated wasabi (Japanese green horseradish).
