This is the latest in a series of posts featuring what Koreans, when guests or special occasions aren’t involved, typically eat at home: rice + soup + whatever banchan (side dishes) happen to be in the fridge (see ATKAHM).  Though simple in terms of variety and random as ever – an egg, a meat, a namul, a jeon, a kimchi –  each dish made by either Nanny 7 or MIL without any grand scheme in mind, tonight’s may have been the best one yet.  Everything represented a different flavor and/or nutritional group and/or food category.  Most important, everything was good.

I needed a second bowl of rice.
