I’m closing the book on Asian Home Gourmet. Back in the day, way before launching GMTD, I liked the brand enough to keep a few packets always on hand, mostly the Thai and Indian curry bases, probably because Thai and Indian food generally wasn’t as readily available in Korea back then, employing at least one package per week. That now seems unbelievable given the dismal opinion that I’ve come to have of the line. This god-awful “Szechuan” item was the last of it.
In any event, as my culinary skills and confidence have grown in the past few years, I should be making such stuff from scratch. I mean, how hard could a chili ginger garlic stir-fry be? Shame on me.
