Over the course of 16 days, through a combination of personal and professional travels, I will be in 12 localities across 7 countries, eating and documenting at least 1 meal in each of them.
Today is Day 8 / Locality 7 / Country 5.
(For additional posts, see 16/12/7.)
In Korea. After concluding a workshop this week, I’m home for a couple days to rest and see the family. I’ll be flying to Fiji for another workshop next week.

In Korea, at the conclusion of some major physical group undertaking (e.g., move of residence/office, construction project), the meal very often consists of cheap Korean-Chinese food delivery, solely on the basis of convenience and cost. These days, pizza might be an alternative, but that would be quite expensive for a large number of people.
The camping crew – exactly the same people as yesterday – gathered to celebrate the completion of the restaurant’s construction.
Soon, when the kitchen is ready to serve food, the soft opening will follow.

We ordered dinner from an old school Chinese joint, located 3 doors down. The food was lousy. For some reason, I got stuck with the bill.
