Kosher Meal

Children’s Day Holiday + Annual Leave, Day 11 (see previously 7.130 Makguksu).

In Seoul.  Arrived last Monday.  On extended leave to take care of various administrative matters during the week in preparation for the family’s move to the Philippines in a couple months, and to attend DJ’s baseball tournament this weekend.  Going back to Manila, by myself, tonight.

In contrast to the other meals, which appeared to have been produced locally, this one was sourced from a company Glatt Kosher Hermolis based in UK.

Roast salmon — spongy — with steamed rice — crumbly — green beans and carrots — mushy.

Smoked trout — fishy — pasta salad — squishy.

TEKASM (Try Every Korean Air Special Meal).  Flying often as I do on Korean Air, I’ve grown weary of the standard food offerings, certainly the bibimbap (see most recently 7.025 Bibimbap), even the meals on business class (see most recently 7.039 Sauteed Cod Fillet).  Recently, I discovered that Korean Air offers a range of “special meals” available upon advance order.  I’ll attempt to try every one, 20 in all.  Though anticipating that the food won’t be all that special, it’ll be about the exploration, better to be surprisingly blah than predictably meh.

The Kosher Meal was crap, the crappiest yet — as if the Jews haven’t suffered enough throughout history, they still have to deal with shit like this.

6 down, 14 to go — with every new instalment worse than the one before, this is quickly becoming the lamest project in the “Try Every” series; I am considering cancellation.
