First time trying to work with actual caviar.
GMTD features another post by a similar title (see 4.335 Caviar Canapés (Kaviarsmörgås)), but that involved a packaged fish roe paste, not whole fish roe.
At the same time, I’m hoping that I never do acquire a taste for it, given the cost and sustainability issues.
Not too bad. The caviar was pleasantly salty, briny – apart from that, whether it had any inherent flavor, I don’t know – amplified by the tang of the caper and kick of the hot sauce, mellowed out by the cottage cheese, brought together by the white bread. This could work in a house-party situation.
