Buca di Beppo is an Italian restaurant chain.  Founded 1993 in Minneapolis, USA, now over 100 branches across the world, including 1 in Manila (Buca di Beppo) – in BGC, just across the street from One Serendra (possibly the closest restaurant to home).

The photos adorning the walls are also mostly of famous Italian-Americans (e.g., Frank Sinatra).

Not sure how I feel about the exploitation of papal imagery in such a commercial setting.

The menu offers mainstream Italian-American favorites (see also 6.231 Woke Up This Morning), makes no pretense about trying to be artisanal/traditional.

Chicken Marsala is an Italian dish.  A type of scaloppini, which involves a thin slice of meat that is dredged in flour, sautéed, then braised in or topped with sauce.  The sauce is a reduction of Marsala wine, a sweetish fortified wine produced in Sicily, plus herbs and aromatics, often mushrooms.  Usually attributed to the Italian-American tradition, even though commonly available outside of the USA (see for example 8.049 Veal Marsala).

A good meal overall.  As an American, this kind of fare is certainly more familiar to me, thus allowing for a predictable/relaxed/enjoyable experience, even if the food itself was merely competent.
