Baked Tortiglioni in Chili-Beef Sauce

Tortiglioni is a type of pasta.  Tubular, pinky-sized, with diagonal grooves on the outside – the name derives from the Latin “torquere (twist).”  Essentially the same thing as rigatoni, which is vertically grooved.


A bit of beef chili, leftover from a chili dog application a few months back (see 10.255 Chili-Chorizo-Dog Deluxe), mixed with marinara sauce, it turned out like a light bolognese, vaguely Tex-Mex in flavor.   First time we’ve had red meat in 11 days.  The boys loved it.
