Scaling back from the seven/eight-layer burritos that I usually make (see most recently 11.065 8-Layer Burritos), I simplified the composition by eliminating the fresh stuff (e.g., sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce) and retaining only the core components of rice, beans, cheese, and meat (ground chicken with chili). While it did lack a certain brightness, the burrito felt … solid … and in some way more satisfying.
