Meatball Pepperoni Pizza

I am not a huge fan of pizza from Papa John’s, American-style pizza, pizza with loads of meat on it, pizza with loads of processed meats on it.
But I have to admit that John has created what may be the perfect junk pie. Opening the box, the aroma smelled kinda fake, like a TV dinner hot out of the oven. At the very first bite, the artificiality of the meats, including meatballs + pepperoni + sausage, both their texture and taste, enhanced by the sweetened tomato sauce underneath and goopy mayo-cream sauce on top, was immediate and intense and thoroughly gratifying. I’m wondering whether living in the Philippines has made me more amenable to such flavors. Perhaps the best delivery chain pizza that I’ve ever had, certainly in Korea.
