Grilled Shiitake

My mother gave me a bag of shiitake from her mushroom grow tent at the cabin, the final batch of the winter.
I sliced them into thick wedges and tossed them with sea salt, black pepper, and sesame oil.
Intended to be an accompaniment to the ribeye, the shiitake was delectably chewy in texture, intensely woodsy in flavor – the highlight of the meal.
To finish off the meal, I made udon and tossed in a few slices of shiitake – amazing.
