Cycle 12 – Item 258

Bibimbab
4.0
at Gogi Nara
-Changchon, Seowon, Hoengseong, Gangwon, Republic of Korea-
with the Family, Mom + Dad
The best thing about Gogi Nara is the amazing array of banchan (see 12.200 Banchan), which we usually finish.
On the occasion that we don’t, and we still have room for a final bite, and the owner’s son is on duty, he’ll make bibimbab with the leftovers, upon request.
It’s a complimentary service, just the cost of rice: 1,000 won per bowl of rice. Coming at the end of the meal, 2 bowls of rice are more than enough for the 4 of us.
He doesn’t use all the banchan, only the ones that he feels would go well together. He also includes fresh lettuce and other the wrapping greens.
Absolutely healthy.
Absolutely delicious.
Absolutely sustainable.
All restaurants should do this, if only to reduce the food waste.
