GMTD is pleased to present the latest dish made by IZ in his after-school cooking class, brought home to share with the family.
The students, now advanced enough to use a knife with metal blade, sliced all the ingredients. Whereas previous dishes had simply involved the assembly of pre-cooked components, this one required them to sauté the chicken, and onions and bell peppers, in a pan over live heat. The salsa and sour cream were the only parts that came out of a jar and served as is. At home, the chicken and tortillas were zapped in the microwave for a minute.
Totally legit. For obvious safety reasons, the chicken and veg weren’t seared over high heat, so the flavor profile lacked the charred smokiness of a proper fajita, but otherwise everything was juicy and tender, nicely seasoned. Once topped with all the accoutrements, it didn’t seem to miss a thing. Great job (not just saying so as a proud father)!
I have created a new tag “by IZ.”
