Mommy and Baby Swimming with Trees

This was intended to be oyakodon during the initial 9 minutes of cooking, but in the 10th minute I suddenly decided to make it more “Chinese” in texture by adding stock + corn starch to create a gravy.
Turned out quite nicely, kinda like a thick chicken egg drop soup, ideal for spooning over steamed rice. Still tasted a bit Japanese.
The name was inspired by the creative etymology of yesterday’s dish (see 13.186 Swallowing Clouds), starting with the Japanese meaning of “oya (parent) + ko (child).” My first instinct was something like “Mommy and Baby Drowning and Trying Desperately to Hang on to Trees,” but went with a shorter, less morbid version.
