Bok-Kal is a packaged food item from producer Samlip. The term is a portmanteau of “bokkeum (stir-fry)” + “kalguksu (knife-cut noodles),” which isn’t really a thing. The package contains uncooked noodles + wet sauce + dehydrated garniture + drizzling oil. Just mix and simmer in 1 cup of water for 3 minutes.
To boost flavor and nutrition, I added shrimp and scallops, as well as onions and carrots.
It was okay. The garlic soy flavor made it taste like teriyaki. The noodles were quite chewy, more like udon, unlike actual kalguksu, which are typically soft and kinda mushy. Not bad to keep on hand for a quick snack.
