Ramyeon Wang Gimtongggae (라면왕 김통깨) is an instant food product by Nongshim.  Ramyeon noodles in a spicy soup, with dried laver flakes (gim) + roasted sesame seeds (tongggae) as garniture.

It’s fine.  The noodles are thin yet chewy.  The soup is pretty much like all Korean ramyeon, though the flavor is dominated by the laver; the sesame seeds are entirely inconsequential.   (Incidentally, I’d tossed in a few clams, which also didn’t have much impact.)  Whatever.

Earlier in the day, we wrapped our book fair at YISS.  We increased sales from the YISS book fair last spring by 25% (see 13.111 Fried Chicken with Soy Sauce + Fried Rice + Salad) and set a new all-time book fair record, previously set at SFS last month (see 13.288 Lentil Tostada Bowl).  Another personal victory, as again I’d supervised the organization and implementation of the book fair in its entirety.  I look forward to even greater success at the CI book fair next week.

Mr Lee led students on a workshop to draw ingredients for bibimbap, with selected works chosen by teachers to be projected on the screen for commentary by the expert.

During the book fair, we helped to organize a concurrent author visit with Ho Baek Lee, a Seoul-based picture book publisher-author-illustrator, most known globally for illustrating Bee-bim Bop! by Linda Sue Park (see also 11.278 Truly a Felicitous Combination).

At lunch, we suddenly realized that admin should’ve coordinated with the cafeteria to serve bibimbap.

The event was a great success – we sold all 100 units of Bee-bim Bop! that we had brought for the book-signing.

As I write this post, I am regretful that I didn’t think to eat bibimbap for dinner.
