with TB staff
In Incheon. Here to supervise a book fair at CI, my first one at this school (previously in 2019, before I came on board). Anticipated to be our biggest event of the season, and given the long distance home, I will be staying in a hotel for the duration, a full fledged duty travel (see also 12.104 Gonghwachun Jjajang Myeon).
CI Winter Book Fair (Day 2)
-
- Day 0 (13.334 Roasted Lobster – Special)
- Day 1 (13.335 Chicken Tandoori + Dal Makhani + Naan)
- Day 2 (13.336 Gimbap Gift Set)
- Day 3 (13.337 Veggie Sweet Potato Hamburger Steak)
LUNCH
CB, the librarian coordinating the book fair from the school end, whom I’d previously worked with to arrange the event with Anton Hur a couple months back (see 13.274 Salmon Avocado Salad), surprised us with a gift-wrapped lunch box.

Youngmihwa Gimbap (영미화 김밥) is a Korean restaurant chain. Specializes in gimbap. Currently 8 locations across the capital region, including 3 in Incheon.
When we unwrapped the bo and opened the box, we were stunned. None of us had ever seen gimbap of such beauty and craftsmanship. None of us had ever tasted gimbap of such quality and deliciousness. Every roll had been very thoughtfully conceived and expertly executed. Beyond the rice and laver, the ingredients across the 6 varieties included cucumber, carrot, napa cabbage, red cabbage, mushroom, lettuce, fresh radish, pickled radish, sprouts, nuts and seeds, perilla leaves, tuna, anchovy, egg. Amazingly, not a single piece of processed meat/fish/crab/cheese in any of them (often, these days, a single gimbap roll will include all of the above). The best gimbap, without anything comparable, that I’ve ever experienced. The first 4.5 in GMTD history.
The closest branch that I could access would be in Yongsan. I’ll see if they deliver to Seongsu.
