Wuyuk Myeon Gwan is a Chinese restaurant. Specializes in their eponymous beef noodles (wuyuk myeon).

A welcome addition to the Seongsu dining scene, the latest in what I hope is a trend towards more authentic Chinese restaurants, including Baozi Pu (see most recently 13.287 (Suanla) Chaoshou), and Daeman Wuyuk Myeon (see most recently 12.157 Wuyuk Myeon) (which as since gone out of business).

The wuyuk myeon was okay. The broth was lighter in texture and milder in flavor than I was anticipating, almost like Vietnamese pho, rather than Taiwanese niu rou mian (see for example 5.112 Niu Rou Mian), which I’m assuming is the basis for wuyuk myeon (though I don’t really have a good reason to assume so). Actually, I just had a quick taste of the dish (as I don’t eat meat these days), and mostly ate dumplings (which contain pork) (to be featured in a future post), but everything was good enough to warrant a repeat visit.
