11 years ago to the day – IZ’s birthday – I ate this dish for dinner (see 3.092 Udong).  Generally not a huge fan, much prefer the spicier sibling jjambbong, I ordered it tonight in tribute to that day.  Actually, perhaps more as a tribute to that post –  I mean, if not for GMTD, how would I know exactly what I’d eaten on 6 April 2012?

During our initial exploration of the restaurants in Wirye, the first visit to Ryeogi had been underwhelming (see 11.179 Gganpung Saewoo).  Still, I could appreciate the generally higher quality of food and service, with table linens and uniformed staff, in contrast to other delivery-oriented businesses in residential neighborhoods, like Shanghai (see for example 11.200 Lajogi).

So, on this special occasion, I proposed that we give the place a second shot.

Overall, we were very pleased with the meal.
