The In-Laws came over for lunch, bringing with them bags of containers filled with leftovers from Chuseok earlier in the week. Because what I really love is eating 4-day old Korean food made by someone else.
Among the goodies, a few pieces of yuk jeon. Which reminded me of the excellent yuk jeon at Jenny’s Apron, served in sweet soy sauce, topped with shaved black truffle (see most recently 15.212 Capellini with Abalone). So tried to recreate the dish with condiments in the fridge.

Pretty close. The Cham Sauce was nearly identical (in fact, I suspect that the restaurant uses this exact product). The Tartufata didn’t have the same intensity as real truffle, of course, but provided just enough truffle aroma to make it work. Other jeon might benefit from this treatment – stay tuned.
