Whereas authentic American-style all-beef franks are not available in Korea (see generally 15.259 Beef “Hot Dogs” with Sauerkraut), same goes with authentic American-style breakfast sausage.
In the same search for franks, which led me to the website of local meat purveyor Johncook Deli Meats, I also found Breakfast Sausage American Style – worth a shot.

After pan-frying the links, I assembled them into “breakfast” sandwiches (see generally 8.214 Breakfast Sandwich).

Not bad! Not as fully savory as an authentic American sausage, but the flavor was there – that 0.24% of sage packs a punch, apparently. A bit dry, but juicy enough. With the egg and cheese and ketchup and mayo, any shortcomings could be forgiven. The squishy bread roll brought everything together, much more fulfilling and comforting than flat sandwich bread. Add this to the regular rotation.
