Being Christmas Eve, we splurged on the Royal Special Set.  Priced at 100,000 won per person, it’s the 2nd priciest menu option.

Does this actually impress anyone (see also 5.267 (Literally) Golden Sushi)?

Prices in 2022, on our first visit (see generally 13.028 Gold Special Set):

    1. Omakase Special Set: 100,000 won
    2. VIP Special Set: 80,000 won
    3. Gold Special Set: 55,000 won

In 2023 (see generally 14.173 VIP Special Set):

    1. Omakase Special Set: 130,000 won
    2. Royal Special Set: 100,000 won
    3. VIP Special Set: 80,000 won
    4. Gold Special Set: 60,000 won

Now:

    1. Omakase Special Set: 130,000 won
    2. Royal Special Set: 100,000 won
    3. VIP Special Set: 80,000 won

Business is booming, apparently.

After the initial platter, they served everything at once.

Alas, the Royal was too much of a good thing.  Mostly toro, each cut was exquisitely rich, sublime in itself.  But after a few pieces, we began to fatigue from so much unrelenting fat.  Not just economically, but better gastronomically to start with cheaper/leaner akami then gradually transition through chutoro then finish with otoro.  Also didn’t help that we’d arrived an hour late, leaving us only an hour to rush through the 2-hour service.  Seriously, how blessed am I to be complaining about such things?
