Started with Kitchens of India’s packaged Marinade for Malai Tikka (forgot to take a photo) (see generally 11.343 Butter Chicken Curry), described on the box as “a meticulously prepared blend of yogurt and spices which lends a creamy and mildly spiced taste to the Malai Tikka kebabs, a dish that originated from the Northwest Frontier province of India and was historically enjoyed by the royalty.” But I didn’t like the bitter flavor of the marinade on its own, so kept adding different things to the mix, including a Japanese curry block with water, until it turned out pretty much like a standard curry.
