When cooking this dish with chicken thighs, I usually take the skins off, cut the meat into bite-sized pieces, and cook them in the sauce, but this time I pan-fried the thighs with skins on in a skillet then plated them on top of the finished sauce, keeping them crispy. Easier (no need to process the chicken, though it does require the additional pan-frying step) and makes good use of the skins (I usually throw them away), which provide a crispy texture contrast.

CYCLE 15 WRAP
Food-wise, the Cycle 15 was solid, though not particularly memorable, except a few of the meals that we had in the US over the summer.
A total of 15.7K views last year (up from 13,231 in Cycle 14, and 10,938 in Cycle 13) – I believe that these are probably bots, mostly.
11.2K visitors (up from 8,618 in Cycle 14, and 6,061 in Cycle 13) – I believe that these are probably bots, mostly.
Top 10 countries: USA, Philippines, Canada, Republic of Korea, Singapore, United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, Sweden, Indonesia, Germany (same countries as Cycle 14, in slightly different order)
Only 5 posts from Cycle 15 were viewed more than 10 times each (2 posts in Cycle 14), which still tells me that nobody is regularly reading the blog, all views the result of random searches.
Interestingly, the milk taste test post was again the most viewed at 1,787 (way up from 274 in Cycle 14) (and remains the all-time most viewed at 3,168 – 896 in Cycle 14) (see 12.122 Taste Test: Korean Milk).
0 comments – therefore, GMTD has returned to its origins as blog by me, about me, for me.
In family matters, the big thing was DJ entering senior year of high school and applying for colleges next spring. The reveal of where he will end up should happen in early March. GMTD will document the family trip that we will take to wherever he goes, sometime in mid-August, possibly the final overseas trip to be covered by the blog, scheduled to wrap for good at the end of Cycle 16.
At work, the big news was getting that toxic sales manager fired and assuming full operational control. Despite what seemed to be a slowing market, we somehow managed to achieve our 2nd highest gross sales in company history, 2nd only to 2020, when the start of the pandemic panicked Korean consumers to hoard books (rather than toilet paper). Blue oceans ahead.
BEST DISH BY ME
Although no single dish stood out to me, even the 3 that rated 4.0, I was more impressed by myself to have secured a firm grasp on several fundamental items, especially Mandarin pancakes (which also work as tortillas), as well as chicken noodle soup (perhaps more of a minestrone), roast beef (also how to use a whole slab of beef), and egg-drop soup (and variations thereon).
