Seared Tuna Canapes
at Club Lounge
(Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa)
-Bandar Sunway, Malaysia-
with the family
Winter Family Vacation to Malaysia, Day 2 (see previously 8.254 Signature Steamed Live Tiger Prawns…).
In Kuala Lumpur. Here for Sunway Lagoon – a theme park and resort. Monday thru Thursday. Back to Manila on Friday.
Sunway is a vast commercial complex that includes Sunway Lagoon, Sunway Pyramid Mall, Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway Condominiums and other residential properties, Sunway University, Sunway Le Cordon Bleu (!), plus numerous hotels, including the flagship Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa, and many restaurants in between. Located in Bandwar Sunway (Sunway City), a township in the greater metropolitan area of Kuala Lumpur, about 20 km from downtown.
We got the Club Room, which gives us the extra space and access to the Club Lounge (see also 7.121 Steamed King Prawn…) – free booze, free snacks (not actually free) – totally worth the additional cost. Beyond the economics, I love the casual luxury.
IZ has recently acquired a taste for tuna sashimi. So proud that he’s expanding his culinary horizons, so fearful of how expensive his appetite will get (already is).
Not surprisingly – because this is Malaysia – the breakfast buffet at the hotel’s Resort Cafe is one of the spreads that I’ve ever encountered. What’s great about buffets in Malaysia, as observed at various venues, is that they tend to favor local dishes (see for example 8.095 Peanut Sauce), and local Malaysian food is a good thing.
One of my favorite parts of travel, where applicable: late night street food.
