When DJ was growing up, our go-to neighborhood restaurant was Bon-Ga and his favorite dish there was the kimchi mari guksu.

I’ve succeeded in replicating the dish. Involves so-myeon noodles – boiled to al dente then chilled – with naeng-myeon broth – chilled just to the point of freezing – topped with thinly sliced kimchi, cucumber matchsticks, egg ribbons, and unseasoned laver. IZ: “Dad, this is best quarantine dish ever.” Agreed, perhaps the best dish that I’ve made during the lockdown thus far.
