Abalone & Garlic

I’d purchased the abalone without any plan on how to prepare them – just so gratefully giddy that our local supermarket J-Mart sells things like live abalone, straight out of the tank.

Then I was reminded of a simple stir-fry that I had improvised at Noryangjin market a few years back (see 7.080 Abalone & Garlic).  Turned out okay.

The shellfish counter, including abalone, oysters, shrimp, crab, lobster (clams in a separate section).
The fishmonger explained that they package the abalone in the morning and put the unsold ones back in the tank at the end of the day.
