Confirming that using a hand-torch to simulate create wok hei works especially well with chow mein, making it taste very close to a restaurant dish.

Squid flowers: pre-sliced, frozen, imported from China.

Added a bit of dark soy sauce, which improved color and flavor (see for comparison 13.158 Lo Mein with Asparagus, Broccoli Stems, and Shiitake).
