The pre-cooked ham was purchased at the Sänti’s Delicatessen branch located in San Antonio’s Plaza. I scored the fat cap, applied honey, and baked it in the oven at 200° for 1 hour. My first ham, even if only in the finishing.
It turned out very nice. Tasty meat, perfectly seasoned, if otherwise a bit plain. Warm running juices.
What started out as a sample slice, the three of us stood in the kitchen and kept eating, one slice after another, as is, until half of the ham was gone, and we were stuffed.
Better than the deli’s own honey-glazed ham (see for example 7.219 Honey-Glazed Ham).
