Enhanced Community Quarantine, Day 67 / Repax Day -8.
As an expression of gratitude, our family driver PR treated us to bbq pork and chicken from Andok’s.
Andok’s was a personal favorite for late-night snacks (“snacks” = whole roasted chickens) back when I was living in Malate (see 7.086 Litson Manok).
For whatever reason, the chain does not operate a single branch in Makati or Taguig, where I’ve been living for the past 4 years.
The food was excellent.
Filipino-style bbq, which typically comprises bits of meats marinated in soy sauce with garlic + pepper + sugar and grilled over coals, is very similar to Korean-style bbq. When eaten with kimchi, they’re nearly identical (see for example 8.148 Grilled Liempo).
