Another product from Pulmuone, this one for mandu. As sorta suggested by the full name of the product – “meat juice (yukjeub)(육즙) + brimming (deumbbuk)(듬뿍) + dumpling (mandu)(만두)” – these are actually Chinese xiaolongbao. They come frozen, for cooking either in the microwave or in a steamer.
I spread them out on a plate, sprinkled some water on them to keep the skins moist, covered the plate with a large bowl to seal in the moisture, zapped them on high in the microwave for 10 minutes.
Not bad. As could be expected, the skins were a bit plasticky in texture but otherwise okay. The soup was legit: a clean, rich pork broth, coming very close to the real deal. Same with the filling. I’ll definitely keep these on hand for a quick snack.
