For further improvements (see previously 1.317 Mom’s Salsa Beef; 2.196 My Take on Mom’s Salsa Beef), this deluxe version included shredded iceberg lettuce as a toppings, and yogurt as a condiment.  The locally produced yogurt was way too sweet for this purpose; although the product was labeled “plain,” that merely means in local parlance that it doesn’t include fruit, the yogurt itself still containing all the sugar.  Overall, a pretty decent meal, nonetheless.
