Zaru Udon

Like zaru soba (see for example 8.141 Zaru Soba), but with udon noodles.

Whereas improperly prepared udon noodles can be soft and mushy, the noodles here were amazingly firm and chewy, perhaps on par with the “udon noodles nonpareil” at Nadai Fujisoba (see 7.320 Hiyashi Udon).

The other dishes were disappointing.

Agedashi Tofu (1.5)
Saba Oshizushi (1.5): shamefully thin slices of saba, shamelessly thick bricks of rice (see for comparison 5.146 Shime Saba Hako Sushi); we only needed half the rice per piece.
Karubi (3.0): not bad per se, just kinda skimpy.
We used the leftover sushi rice plus toppings from the tofu to create our own karubi nigirizushi.
