On the occasion of our annual meeting with heads of country offices (absurdly, they’re called “WR” = WHO Representative), including three K staff, we were happy to host a welcome back dinner.
It was the first gathering since our former boss had retired. Without him, the meal didn’t have the same level of tension/gravitas, which was liberating and yet also a bit sad. Because I’m charged with coordinating such meals, I was relieved that I didn’t have to worry about sequencing of dishes and timing between courses.
